When we bought our farm having a dairy was never in our plans, but things have a way of happening and now we have a milking herd of 150 goats! Running a dairy was one of the craziest ideas we've ever had and the amount of work and research that went into making it all happen was tremendous. Over the past 15 years we have come a long way and now have a high producing herd of mixed dairy goats we are proud to milk every day.
Our milk is picked up twice a week where it travels to the Montchevre cheese factory in Belmont, WI. There it is made into some of the best goat cheese around! The range of what the cheese makers create is so diverse from a dozen flavors of soft creamy chevre, to crumbly tasty feta, a mild cheddar, and other favorites like Brie and Camembert. We feel lucky we can bring all this to market and share with you since many of these are not available in any local stores.
